College Sports Madness
(CSM) All-Sun Belt Conference (SBC) Preseason Men's Basketball Team

Golden claimed fourth-team all-conference preseason honors by College Sports Madness, which selected five individuals apiece to comprise the preseason All-SBC first, second, third, and fourth teams. Shawn Long of UL Lafayette was selected by College Sports Madness as the SBC Preseason Player of the Year while his coach, Bob Marlin, was tabbed the CSM Sun Belt Conference Preseason Coach of the Year. The CSM SBC Preseason Freshman of the Year was Austin Evans of Texas State.
This past 2013-14 season, Golden averaged a personal career single-season high and team sixth-best 7.6 points per contest in helping A-State post a 19-13 overall record. The 6-0, 158-pound backcourt player totaled a team-leading 81 assists and averaged 2.5 an outing while ranking second on the squad in steals (36), tied for third in three-point field goals made (43), and fifth in both rebounds (79) and rebounding average (2.5). Golden, who
played in all 32 A-State games last season and had 11 starts, registered double-figure scoring in 13 contests for the 2013-14 campaign which included a career game-best 20 points at Texas State (1/4). He scored a career season-most 244 points a season ago and averaged 24.0 minutes per contest.
A native of Memphis, Tenn., Golden led or shared game-high honors in both assists and steals five times apiece. He also paced or split team-best honors in assists on eight occasions and 12 times in steals.
Golden finished the 2013-14 season tied for 12th among the SBC leaders in steals (1.1 stls.) and ranked 13th in assists (2.5 apg.) for all games. He averaged 8.5 points (153 pts.) and grabbed 3.0 rebounds (54 rebs.) a game in 18 conference matchups this past season.
For his career, Golden is averaging 7.5 points (473 pts.), 2.6 rebounds (164 rebs.), 2.3 assists (146 asts.), and 1.1 steals (67 stls.) an outing in 63 appearances.
