The Children’s Television Act

The Children’s Television Act of 1990 established a specific programming obligation for every commercial television station to “serve the educational and informational needs of children” through overall programming and at least three hours per week of “core” programming specifically designed with educational and informational content.

KAIT-TV, a Raycom Media station, is proud to serve Jonesboro and the Region 8 area by providing enriching programming for children of all ages.   KAIT identifies its “core” programming, which is designed specifically to serve the educational and informational needs of children, in quarterly report 'FCC 398' on file at the Federal Communications Commission
