Jonesboro woman arrested on public intox and controlled substance charges

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -

According to police, a 49-year-old woman was arrested in Jonesboro early Saturday morning after police crashed a party on the 900-block of Haltom Street.

Officers said that they were on alert for possible runners when they arrived on scene due to the “almost weekly parties” that happen at the address.

According to an incident report, Robin Heggins walked out from the back door of the house, dropped “a fifth of vodka” onto the ground and was unsteady on her feet, almost falling when officers were questioning her.

Officers said, when asked for an I-D, police shinned a flashlight into her handbag and noticed a white substance in a plastic bag.

The white powder was tested and logged into evidence as cocaine.

According to the incident report, she was arrested for public intoxication and was taken to the Craighead County Jail.

Police say she will be in court on Monday.
