Jonesboro store clerk robbed at gunpoint

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - Jonesboro police are looking for two masked men who robbed Jordan's Kwik Stop, 4502 E. Nettleton, around 8:30 Monday night.

A store employee said one of the men pointed a gun at her and said, “Give me the (expletive).”

The woman opened the register and the armed suspect took all of the cash, the incident report stated.

Meanwhile, the second suspect “ran around the counter” and stole three packs of Newport cigarettes before both suspects ran out the door.

Ten minutes before the robbery, the woman stated two men approached her in front of the store and asked about “chewy Jolly Ranchers.” After telling them the price, the two men walked away heading east on Nettleton.

Something similar happened shortly before the robbery at the Jordan's store across the street. The report stated two men entered that store, asked about another type of candy then left without making a purchase.

A K-9 unit track led officers to an area “where it appeared the (robbery) suspects got into a car and left the scene,” the report stated.

The store manager provided video of the robbery and the earlier encounter to detectives.
