One man shot, Blytheville police search for two suspects

BLYTHEVILLE, AR (KAIT) -

One man was shot and police are looking for two men who "fled from the scene" late Monday morning, according to Blytheville Police Captain Scott Adams.

According to Adams, Jessie Andrews III, 42, was found suffering from a gunshot wound on Delmar Street at 11:45 Monday morning. Adams said the shooting "appeared to be a drug rip-off" between Dougan and Davis in Blytheville.

Andrews was taken to a local hospital. He was able to provide police with information before he was transported from the scene. Witnesses claim Andrews fired several shots at the two men while he was on the ground, according to Adams.

Police also discovered a large amount of methamphetamine at the scene of the shooting, Adams said.

Blytheville police are asking anyone in the area to contact them if they know anything about the incident. If you know anything, call the Blytheville Police Department Criminal Investigation division at 870-762-0400.
