PARAGOULD, AR (KAIT) - Kids at one Region 8 school put down their pencils to learn about health on Wednesday.
Health Day took place at the Paragould Primary School.
Students visited a variety of learning stations on many different health issues.
Community members talked to them about dental care, germs, nutrition, and even yoga and karate.
Assistant Principal Jerry Dickson says focusing on the kid's health is crucial to their success in the classroom.
Dickson said, “Wellness is very important to the child's well-being. If they don't have good physical health, mental health they're not going to be able to learn as well as they should.”
He said the earlier they start practicing these healthy habits, the more likely they are to continue them in adulthood.
