Woman Killed in Collision with Train in Poinsett County

FISHER, ARKANSAS-- A collision between a car and a train in Poinsett County killed a woman Thursday evening.   It happened at approximately 9 p.m. on private property along Highway 49 in Fisher.

Arkansas State Police identified the victim as 35-year-old Shelly Johnson of Cash.  According to the State Police accident report, the accident occured as Johnson's vehicle was parked "perpendicular to the railroad tracks with the headlights off.  The train struck the car in the right side."  Johnson was pronounced dead at the scene by Poinsett County Coroner Sonny Thompson. 

The accident was investigated by Corporal D.W. Browning.
