POPLAR BLUFF, MO (KAIT) - A man wanted out of Poplar Bluff was captured Friday night in St. Louis.
John L. Squires, 55, was arrested after St. Louis County Police officers were called out a disturbance at 10739 Page Street in St. Louis.
Police identified Squires and found he had a nationwide extradition warrant out for him. He was taken into custody and transported to jail in Clayton, Mo.
The Butler County Sheriff's Department took him back to Poplar Bluff Saturday.
Poplar Bluff police were searching for Squires after he cut off his electronic ankle monitor and left the supervision of police while he was with a doctor.
Deputy Chief of Police Jeff Rolland said Squires is “considered a sexual predator with violent tendencies.”
Chief Danny Whiteley said he is glad Squires is back in custody and hopes he will never be outside of a prison for the rest of his life.
