A-State Men’s Basketball to Hold Open Scrimmage This Saturday

JONESBORO, AR (ASU) – Fans looking to catch an early glimpse of the 2014-15 Arkansas State University men's basketball team will have an opportunity to do so this Saturday (Nov. 1) as the Red Wolves will conduct an open scrimmage at A-State's Convocation Center in Jonesboro, Ark.

The open scrimmage, which starts at 3 p.m. (CT) and is free to the public, will have A-State splitting up with a Scarlet team and a Black team.  The officiated scrimmage will feature four 10-minute games and the teams will be split up differently for each game.  Game statistics will be kept along with fouls being called but free throws won't be taken unless it's an and-one situation or in the last two minutes of each game.

Following the open scrimmage, the A-State coaching staff and players will be available to meet with the fans.

A-State, under seventh-year head coach John Brady, begins the 2014-15 season at home with a pair of exhibition games versus Henderson State Wednesday, Nov. 5, and against Southern Arkansas Wednesday, Nov. 12 at the Convocation Center.  Both contests are scheduled for 7:05 p.m. (CT) start times.

The Red Wolves' regular-season opener is set for Monday, Nov. 17, versus UT Martin in a 7:05 p.m. (CT) non-league tilt at the Convocation Center.
