One of the things I like most about living in Region 8 is that we support our local charities. And this weekend is a great opportunity to help a worthwhile organization.
The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation is having its annual 5K walk this Saturday at the corner of Washington Avenue and Main Street in Jonesboro. Check in is at 7:30 a.m., and the walk starts at 8:30 a.m.
JDRF exists for the millions of children, adults, and families challenged by type 1 diabetes every single day. They're dedicated to researching a way to end Type 1 diabetes. Every dollar JDRF directs toward research comes from donors. So, the more walkers raise this Saturday, the closer they get to the goal of a world without type 1 diabetes.
To learn more about this weekend's walk, log on to walk.jdrf.org, or call Erin Reynolds at (501) 217-0321. The weather will be crisp and beautiful this weekend, getting out and enjoying it by helping JDRF with their mission will make this A Better Region 8.
