U.S. Marshals, deputies arrested wanted Texas man

BAXTER COUNTY, AR (KAIT) - The United States Marshals Service and Region 8 deputies arrested a wanted man after they say he assaulted an elderly person in Texas back in July.

Baxter County Sheriff John Montgomery said Joshua Callaway, 24, surrendered on Thursday afternoon after he learned about his warrant.

Callaway ran away from Texas in July and moved to Mountain Home, Arkansas. The Marshal's service called the sheriff's office asking for help in finding Callaway.

A deputy from both departments went to Callaway's workplace and could not find him.

Deputies pulled over a car they said was connected to Callaway and got the driver to contact him. The driver convinced him to meet the marshals and deputies at the sheriff's office on the warrant.

Callaway was arrested and taken to the Baxter County Detention Center. Officials said he will be extradited to Texas.
