Jonesboro teen arrested after bringing drugs to school

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - A teen was arrested after bringing marijuana to school Friday morning.

Around 8:30 a.m. the director of security at Jonesboro High School told Officer Maurice Kinnard that he had information that a student had drugs on them. When the 14-year-old student was brought into Officer Kinnard's office he claimed that he had found the marijuana on the school bus that morning.

According to the police report, the teenage boy said that he picked up the marijuana and put it in his backpack, but during first period moved the baggie to his shoe because the smell was so strong. When Officer Kinnard asked the teen to give him the drugs he took the clear plastic bag with the marijuana in it out of his shoe and pulled out two packs of Sweet Cigarillos out of his backpack.
