LITTLE ROCK, AR - Houston-based Centerpoint Energy Arkla says it is working to correct errors on bills sent to 21,000 customers.
Arkla says it failed to add the correct "weather normalization adjustment" for home and small commercial users in Arkansas and Texarkana, Texas, in its first December billing cycle.
The company said the result to customers varied by usage. In some cases it amounted to less than a dollar, while for heavier users the charge was higher.
Along with sending corrected bills, Arkla will credit to January bills any overcharges customers have paid.
Also, Arkla is working to correct a second error made in November when it failed to charge its Arkansas customers for the weather adjustment.
