TUCKERMAN, AR (KAIT) - A student in the Jackson County School District was reprimanded for bringing a shotgun onto school premises, according to Superintendent Chester Shannon.
Shannon told Region 8 News that the school is handling the investigation internally, but he said a student left a shotgun in the back of a vehicle.
The student received expulsion/suspension for the remainder of the semester, said Shannon.
Shannon said the gun was locked and in a safe condition. He also said there was no threat to the school or any individual.
The student appeared to not know the gun was inside the vehicle and will not be charged, the superintendent said.
