WARM SPRINGS, AR (KAIT) -

Over two thousand chickens were involved in a truck rollover north of Pocahontas.

Randolph County Sheriff Gary Tribble tells Region 8 News his department responded to a crash on Blackwell Den Road east of Arkansas Highway 93 just after midnight Tuesday morning.

Tribble said the truck was traveling on the road when the driver met another large truck traveling in the opposite direction. As the chicken truck attempted to make room while passing by, it went off the road and overturned.

The driver of the truck was taken to a local hospital in an unknown condition.

About 2,800 chickens were on the truck, but it is not known how many died as a result of the crash according to Tribble.
