Newport man dead after one-vehicle crash

JACKSON COUNTY, AR (KAIT) -

A Jackson County man is dead following a crash where the driver left the road and hit a tree.

James Durham, 64, of Newport was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, according to Arkansas State Police.

The crash report states Durham was traveling east on Arkansas Highway 17 Wednesday afternoon when the vehicle left the road and hit a tree.

Durham's vehicle then came to rest in a tree line, police stated.
