St. Bernards Provides $24 Million in Community Benefits

JONESBORO, AR - Officials at St. Bernards Healthcare of Jonesboro say their company has provided more than $24 million in community benefits for the residents of northeast Arkansas and southeast Missouri.

The actual total of $24,631,702 includes traditional charity care, unpaid costs of public programs, community outreach, health screenings, cash and in-kind contributions, educational classes and volunteer efforts.

"We are pleased to continue our history of giving back to the community," said St. Bernards Medical Center administrator Chris Barber.  "More than 214,000 residents of northeast Arkansas and southeast Missouri were touched by services St. Bernards provides to the community above normal fee-for-service obligations."

In the last six years, St. Bernards Healthcare has provided more than $84 million in community benefit services.
