Man in cotton gin accident still in the hospital

BAY, AR (KAIT) -

A man injured in a cotton gin accident Saturday night remained hospitalized as of Sunday afternoon.

The employee said the last time she heard from the family, the 68-year-old man was able to move his fingers. 

The man got his arm stuck in a machine at the Bay Gin Company around 7:40 p.m. Saturday, according to Chief Paul Keith of the Bay Police Department.

Keith said the man was ginning cotton when his arm got stuck. The man was treated on the scene then flown to a Memphis hospital.

Members of the Bay Fire Department and gin employees took apart the machine to help rescue the man, Keith said.
