1 dead, 3 injured in Mississippi Co. crash

MISSISSIPPI COUNTY, AR (KAIT) -

One woman was killed and three others injured in a four-vehicle crash early Monday morning.

Cynthia Simmons, 61, of Blytheville was killed in the crash, according to Arkansas State Police.

The crash happened on Interstate 55 at the 67 mile marker just after 4:30 a.m.

According to the preliminary crash report, Latonya Harvey of Blytheville was driving south and lost control on ice while trying to stop on a bridge. The vehicle Simmons was driving hit Harvey's vehicle and spun onto the shoulder.

Another driver, Avery Jackson of Blytheville, also lost control and managed to stop in the right lane. Anthony Green of Sikeston, MO also headed south struck Jackson and veered off hitting Simmons.

Green, Jackson and Harvey were taken to a hospital in Blytheville.

ASP states road conditions were icy at the time of the crash.
