BAXTER COUNTY, AR (KAIT) -

The Baxter County Sheriff's Office arrested a Yellville man in connection with the theft of a gun, ammunition and prescription pills on Thursday.

On Tuesday, a victim told deputies a work crew installed flooring in his home. He noticed one of the workers was acting suspiciously by making several trips to the bathroom where the prescription drugs were and to the bedroom where the handgun and ammunition were kept, according to the news release.

After the work crew left, the victim found the firearm, a Glock Model 22 .40 caliber, and prescriptions were missing from his home.

After the victim contacted the owner of the work crew, the stolen handgun was turned over to the sheriff's office, said Sheriff John Montgomery.

On Thursday, the sheriff's office arrested Jesse Glenn Zurcher, 19, on charges of a misdemeanor and felony count of possession of a controlled substance and theft of property.

Zurcher is being held in lieu of $20,000 bond at the Baxter County Detention Center.
