COLUMBIA, Mo. (U of A)
– Arkansas football fell to No. 17 Missouri, 21-14, Friday evening in Faurot Field.
Sophomore running back Alex Collins surpassed the 1,000 season rushing yards for the second time in his Razorback career. Collins amassed 59 rushing yards against the Tigers to eclipse the 1,000-yard mark. Collins joins junior running back Jonathan Williams as the second Razorback to rush for over 1,000 yards this season. It marks just the third time in school history that Arkansas (6-6, 2-6 SEC) has had two players rush for over 1,000-plus yards and the first since 2007. The Razorbacks also accomplished the feat in 2006 and 2007, when both Darren McFadden and Felix Jones rushed for over 1,000 yards in each season
Junior quarterback Brandon Allen tossed two touchdown passes on the day. The Razorbacks struck first on their game-opening drive at the hands of sophomore running back Jonathan Williams who hauled in a 23-yard touchdown reception to open scoring. Junior wide receiver Keon Hatcher was Allen's next target in the second quarter, bringing in a 12-yard touchdown catch to extend Arkansas' lead to 14-3.
