Lake City house explosion claims fourth life

LAKE CITY, AR (KAIT/AP) - A fourth person died as a result of a house explosion in Lake City in November. Four people died in the explosion and two others injured.

According to Craighead County Sheriff's Captain Justin Rolland, Gary Gilley died around 9:30 Friday morning. We will have more updates on his death as they become available.

Ellis Glen Eaton, 49, of Lake City died Wednesday, December 1 at the Regional Medical Center in Memphis. Two other victims, Slade Owen Gilley, 11, and his grandmother, Deborah Gilley, 64, died in the explosion.

Lake City Assistant Fire Chief Herb Davis said a gas line was being connected to a propane tank when the explosion happened. Sheriff Marty Boyd said they believe the incident was an accident.

The Craighead County Sheriff's Department said emergency crews were called out to a fire on County Road 507.

Assistant Chief Deputy Justin Rolland said it was around 4 p.m. when they received a call about a house fire. Firefighters worked to put out the flames and smoke. All that remains of the house is a brick fireplace.
