Jonesboro swears in 7 new police officers

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -

The Jonesboro Police Department has added a few more officers to patrol the streets.

Craighead County District Court Judge Curt Huckaby administered the oath of office to 7 new officers Monday morning.

The new hires will undergo in-house training at JPD before embarking on a 13-week training program at the Law Enforcement Training Academy at Black River Technical College in Pocahontas in January.

The new officers are (from left): Trey Chism, Jerry Love, Weston Gates, Chris Pigg, Victor Garcia, Logan Butler and Brant Johnson. On the right is Sgt. Lyle Waterworth, JPD training officer.
