MARKED TREE (KAIT) -

Two people have been arrested in connection to the murder of a Tyronza man.

Poinsett County Sheriff Larry Mills said Christopher Terrell, 48, and Betty Grant, 40, both of Marked Tree have been charged with first degree murder in the death of 49-year-old James Hunt. Both are in the Poinsett County Detention Center.

Hunt died from a gunshot wound and was also run over by a truck that had been burned, according to Mills.

Poinsett County sheriff's deputies were called to a vehicle fire on Nov. 29 on a levee near Marked Tree. Officers discovered the body of Hunt partially burned underneath the vehicle, Mills said.

A probable cause hearing was held for Terrell and Grant on Wednesday. Bond was set at one million dollars each. They are scheduled to be in court again Jan. 27, 2015.

Mills said the investigation by his department and the Arkansas State Police remains active.
