Emergency crews welcome Team Rubicon to Jonesboro

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -

Representatives from several first responder organizations met at Allen Park Community Center in Jonesboro on Thursday.

They exchanged information about emergency situations and met with representatives from Team Rubicon, a national organization founded by retired U.S. Marines.

The organization has more than 14,000 volunteers who provide disaster relief and medical support in emergency situations.

“They're going to be a resource for us in time of disaster emergency response," said Jonesboro Emergency 911 Director Jeff Presley. "Whenever we need help, these guys are going to be there."

Team Rubicon was formed in January of 2010 following the Haiti earthquake.

They recently branched out to an international program.
