Fund created for victims of house explosion

LAKE CITY, AR (KAIT) - A fund has been set up to help a Lake City family recover from a devastating fire in late November that killed two people and injured three others.

The "Gilley Fund" has been set up at Iberia Bank in Lake City, but people can donate at any bank location in northeast Arkansas.

The money will go to the Gilly family. Slade Owen Gilley, 11, and Deborah Gilley, 64, of Lake City were killed when their home on Craighead County Road 507 exploded and caught fire Nov. 29.

Two adults and another child were injured in the explosion, according to Lake City Assistant Fire Chief Herb Davis.

Davis told Region 8 News that a gas line was being connected to a propane tank when the explosion happened. Police have said it was an accident.
