Store employee accused of stealing $2,700 from cash register

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - Jonesboro police arrested a JC Penney employee after investigators say he stole thousands of dollars from the store's cash register.

On Monday, Dec. 8, police charged Terry Michael Crosby, 42, of Pocahontas on suspicion of theft $5,000 or less but greater than $1,000.

A loss prevention officer at the store, located at 3000 East Highland, told police he watched on surveillance cameras as Crosby took ten $100 bills from a cash register.

According to the initial incident report, the employee said Crosby had taken money from the registers 13 times, totaling $2,270.

Crosby submitted a written statement to the store "admitting that he had been stealing money since Oct. 27," the report stated.

Crosby was taken to the Craighead County Detention Center to await a probable cause hearing.
