Growing pains. We all remember them don't we? Our parents said proudly "it's because you're growing". It still hurt.
If you've driven at all in the city of Jonesboro lately, you've experienced the city's growing pains. In a recent Region 8 News story, the city's 2015 focus on traffic brought some of these challenges and possible solutions to light. This includes many roads and intersections that need improvement and projects like the Highland Drive overpass.
In our story, Mayor Herald Perrin said he values the input from the city's residents and wants us to weigh in on which ones we think are a priority. Once that's done, he said he would come back to us to talk about how to pay for it.
I believe we should take him up on that. Starting after the first of the year, they city will hold a series of public meetings where all of us will have a voice in this. When those dates are set, we'll make sure you know about it.
Recognizing that our roads need improvement as we grow, and taking the time to voice our opinion will make this A Better Region 8.
