JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - A Region 8 resident recently celebrated a very important day. Mable Bottorff of Jonesboro just turned 106 years old.
Raised near Alicia, Bottorff said things have changed considerably since she was younger.
She lived on the main highway that stretched from St. Louis to Dallas, and everyone traveled on it, even Gypsies.
She told us that was one of the most memorable things from her childhood.
"I liked them, you know. And their men were good looking," said Bottorff. "And they wore different things from what they do today. But we loved to see the Gypsies coming, we always did."
Bottorff said she often visited the Gypsies' camp with her father who would play the fiddle for them.
