Christmas crafts at the Craighead County Jonesboro Public Library

CRAIGHEAD COUNTY, AR (KAIT) -

With many kids out of school and home for the holidays, the Craighead County Jonesboro Public Library has a way to keep them busy.

The library is holding a holiday craft time for kids on Wednesday and Thursday this week.

Kids have a variety of crafts to choose from, including ornaments and necklaces.

Vivi Chase with the library said the crafts are a great way to educate kids and have fun.

“It gives them a chance to be creative and it gives them a chance to work on those skills, like fine motor skills,” said Chase. “So, that's a fantastic thing. We sneak all that educational stuff into our fun activity.”

Danyelle Hutton has three children ages 2, 5 and 8. She said she loves bringing her kids to the libraries activities.

“We try to make it once a week, at least, and then, for all the extra crafts,” said Hutton. “We were here last week for Santa Claus and then we're here today to make Christmas ornaments and Christmas necklaces and all the crafts.”

Craft time for preschool age children is 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and school age crafts are from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
