JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - A Region 8 group volunteered their Saturday to help those affected by domestic violence and abuse.
The Haven of Northeast Arkansas Incorporated sponsored a donation drive in Blytheville and Jonesboro.
The Haven is an organization that takes in women and children who are victims of domestic violence. The shelter for these women and children often needs household items.
Anthony Jackson volunteered and said these families need help because they are away from their homes.
"With them being away from their home, and not having items, having to leave in hurry, and put up in another location, a lot of things they would need on a daily basis that they don't have," Jackson said.
The Haven took donations of toilet paper, paper towels, and laundry detergent outside of Bill's Fresh Market.
After just one hour, donations had already filled two baskets.
