Hogs cruise past Milwaukee 84-54

– With three players scoring in double digits, the University of Arkansas men's basketball team cruised past Milwaukee 84-54 on Monday at Bud Walton Arena.

The Razorbacks improved to 9-2 overall with the victory, while Milwaukee dropped to 5-8 on the season.

The Hogs claimed control early in the game and did not trail after a jumper from junior Jacorey Williams tied it up at 2-2 at 17:32. Arkansas shot 45 percent (30-of-67) of its attempts from the field and 37 percent (7-of-19) from behind the arc, while Milwaukee knocked down 29 percent (15-of-52) from the floor and hit 4-of-24 (17 percent) from long distance.

Claiming his first double-double of the season, sophomore Bobby Portis led the team with 18 points and 10 rebounds. The Little Rock native also went a perfect 4-of-4 from the stripe.

Just behind Portis in points was Michael Qualls. The junior went 6-of-10 from the floor and 4-of-6 from the free throw line for a total of 17 buckets. Senior Rashad Madden scored double-digit points as well. Madden also shot 100 percent from the stripe (4-of-4) and 4-of-9 from the floor for 15 points while adding a team-high six assists.

Getting down and dirty for the Razorbacks defensively was freshman Anton Beard. Beard made a game-high five steals as well as two defensive rebounds.

After a brief break for the holidays, Arkansas hosts Northwestern State on Dec. 28 at Bud Walton Arena.
