JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - The 42nd Annual Greene County Tech Farm Equipment Sale was held Saturday morning.
Shoppers braved the rain to take a look at equipment up for auction.
The GCT FFA chapter sponsors this event. Money raised goes to the FFA chapter to help pay for trips, supplies and career development opportunities.
The rain didn't stop a good crowd from coming out.
The students worked all week to get the equipment unloaded and ready for auction.
FFA advisor Cody Gray said while this is a great fundraiser, it's also a great learning opportunity for the students.
"They get to see that equipment come in, get to learn about what that equipment is and how they use it," Gray said. "They get to use it to network with the community because those farmers that come out; they get to talk with them and visit with them and learn a little about what they do."
Gray said the Farm Sale helps the FFA program, but also gives people in the community an opportunity to come out and visit with one another following the holidays.
He said they really appreciate all the support from the community and this is really just about helping the kids.
