This week, longtime ESPN Anchor Stuart Scott passed away from cancer. He was 49. Scott was known in our business as one of the good guys.
When Scott was fighting cancer, the attitude and words he shared with the world gave all of us something to live up to. He said, "When you die, it does not mean that you lose to cancer. You beat cancer by how you live, why you live, and in the manner in which you live."
Words to live by. We should all ask ourselves, am I living for something? Will you be able to say that you have lived life in a way that leaves a positive impact on the people around you? I think it's really hard to look back and know the answer, but I also know that we can start today living the kind of life Stuart Scott was talking about.
Be an example to your family, love your neighbor, have fun with the people around you and don't let life's challenges define who you are, let life's challenges remind you of how to live. It will make this A Better Region 8.
