Jonesboro police searching for 4 who vandalized church

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -

Jonesboro police are searching for 4 juveniles suspected of breaking into and vandalizing a church.

Just before 6 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 6, an officer was dispatched to Faith Tabernacle Pentecostal Church, 1201 Daybreak, regarding 4 boys seen running from the back of the church.

A witness told police the boys appeared to be 7 to 14 years of age.

The officer stated in his initial incident report that a window on the south side of the building had been removed and was laying on the grass.

It is believed one of the suspects gained entry through the window then opened a door to allow the others to enter.

A fire extinguisher had been discharged inside the building, the report stated. The floor and “a majority of the surfaces inside the building” were covered with the dust.

It was unknown at the time of the report if anything had been stolen from the church.
