JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - On Monday, Jan. 12, Second Judicial Circuit Court Judge Victor Hill sentenced Joshua David Collins of Jonesboro to 60 months in the Arkansas Department of Correction.

Court records indicate Collins, 26, entered a negotiated plea of guilty to a charge of distributing/possessing/viewing matter depicting sexually explicit conduct involving a child.

A multi-state undercover investigation ended in October 2013 with Collins arrested on child pornography charges.

According to the initial police report, detectives began investigating Collins in June of that year after being contacted by Indiana State Police investigators who traced his IP address to his home.

When officers searched his apartment in the 900-block of Links Drive, they reportedly found a laptop containing numerous images of child pornography.

Collins told arresting officers he began viewing child pornography when he was 10 years old.

As part of his sentencing, Collins will be required to register as a sex offender when he is released from prison.

He was also ordered to pay court costs.
