– After falling behind early in hostile territory, the Razorback men's basketball team cut a 13-point deficit to one in the final four minutes, but ultimately dropped its third game of the season to Tennessee 74-69 at Thompson-Boling Arena on Tuesday.
With the loss, the Razorbacks dropped to 13-3 overall, 2-1 in the SEC, while the Volunteers improved to 10-5 overall and 2-1 in the SEC on the season.
Coming off of a season-high performance against Vanderbilt on Jan. 10, sophomore Bobby Portis again led the team with 17 points and 11 rebounds. This marked Portis' fourth double-double of the season.
Junior Michael Qualls also came away with double-digit points, scoring 15 on 5-of-11 from the floor. The Shreveport, Louisiana native shot well from the charity stripe, making 4-of-4. In his second 10-plus point game of his career, freshman Anton Beard scored 12, including a massive three-pointer from deep to cut the Razorback deficit to just three leading into halftime.
