Railroad crossing reopened after train repair

CRAIGHEAD COUNTY, AR (KAIT) - A railroad crossing is now open after being blocked because of an emergency train shutdown.

The railroad crossing at Highway 226 and Highway 349 east of Cash is open.

Union Pacific Railroad crews repaired broken air lines that locked the brakes of the train causing the blocked crossing Monday morning, according to Jonesboro E-911 Director Jeff Presley.

Jonesboro E-911 Director Jeff Presley said Union Pacific Railroad advised the railroad crossing at Highway 226 and Highway 349 east of Cash is closed. 

In an unrelated case, BNSF Railroad advised Jonesboro E911 a railroad crossing on Highway 158 at Bay will be closed today. A detour will be available.
