Multiple guns stolen from vehicles in Jonesboro

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -

Between Monday and Tuesday, 5 firearms were stolen out of vehicles in Jonesboro.

Jonesboro police said they were called out to the 200-block of North Hunter Lane after a man noticed there were several items missing from his truck.

The man said that he left Monday morning to go hunting and when he got back that afternoon his wallet and a Smith and Wesson W40VE pistol were missing.

Police said there were no signs of damage or forced entry to the truck.

On Tuesday, Jonesboro police were called out to the 100-block of Leawood after another vehicle had been broken into.

Police said there were several items missing out of the truck including a black and silver Smith and Wesson 9 millimeter pistol, a Savage 270 short mag, a Mossberg 12 gauge shotgun, a Marlin .22 magnum, a backpack and an overnight full of clothes.

The victim told police that the truck was left unlocked.

His wallet was later found by a dumpster on East Nettleton.
