JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - Arkansas State University received special recognition from Apple on Wednesday.
Representatives with the company stopped by ASU to present them with a National Distinguished Program Award in honor of their implementation of Apple iPads into their First Year Experience program.
ASU Freshman William Reynolds said he was skeptical when he first learned an iPad would be required but now he thinks it's great.
"I've downloaded numerous online books on my iPad. I can keep them all right there," said Reynolds. "If I'm on the road or away from my dorm and all my books are somewhere else, I have a lot of them right there with me and I can just pull up whatever I need."
Arkansas State first began working on this idea in Dec. 2012. By the fall of 2013, all first year students were required to bring an iPad to campus.
