JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - District Court Judge Keith Blackman found probable cause Monday to charge a man with dealing painkillers.
Alfred White, 58, of West Plains, MO, is charged with possession of a Schedule I or II controlled substance (not meth or cocaine) with purpose to deliver.
According to court documents, on Friday, Jan. 30, detectives with the Jonesboro Police Department's PROWL Unit received information that White would be at a local grocery store selling hydromorphone for $15 each or trading for marijuana.
After setting up a surveillance of the store, PROWL officers observed a red GMC pickup truck with Missouri tags pull into the parking lot, the affidavit stated.
After positively identifying the driver as White, 2 investigators searched White and reported finding 29 hydromorphone pills in a pill bottle with his name on it.
The officers arrested White and took him to the Craighead County Detention Center where he was left in lieu of a temporary $50,000 bond.
On Monday, Judge Blackman found cause to charge White and set a $5,000 surety bond. As of this writing, White remains in custody at the CCDC.
