JFD investigating two house fires as arson

Fisher St. Fisher St.
Drake St. Drake St.
JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - Jonesboro fire investigators believe two house fires in north Jonesboro were set intentionally.

On Jan. 4, a fire destroyed a home on Drake Street. One month later, on Feb. 3, a home on Fisher Street went up in flames.

Investigators believe arson is to blame for both fires.

“We believe, based on the investigation we have completed so far, that both fires had been intentionally set,” Wills said.  “We don't know if they're related or not.”

However, Wills said the fires are similar. Both homes caught on fire in the early evening and both homes were vacant.

Both houses had been occupied.  They were tenable structures.  They had personal belongings in both structures it's just that they were both unoccupied at the time of both fires,” Wills said.

Wills urges anyone who might have information about either fire to call Crimestoppers at 935-STOP.
