JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -

Jonesboro police are asking the public's help in identifying a man suspected in a possible case of video voyeurism at a local store.

On Monday, Feb. 9, the Jonesboro Police Department released a surveillance video photograph of a man suspected of trying to videotape a woman in a bathroom stall at Target, 3000 E. Highland.

Anyone who can identify this man is asked to call JPD at 935-6710 or CrimeStoppers at 935-STOP (7867).

Around 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 5, the victim told police while her toddler was using the restroom she noticed a pair of “brown, muddy boots that were not women's boots” in the stall next to hers.

She then noticed a man's camouflage jacket on the floor with a cell phone on it.

The woman said she could tell the phone was on.

Realizing a man was in the stall, she “tried to get out of the bathroom as quickly as she could.”

As she and her child were leaving the restroom, the woman said she could see a man “peering through the gap in the door looking at her.”

The woman notified employees who went to investigate.

According to the police report, 2 female workers made sure no women were in the restroom then announced it was about to be cleaned.

The employees reported seeing an unknown male wearing brown boots in the third bathroom stall quickly move his jacket off the floor.

When asked why he was in the women's restroom, the man reportedly said the men's bathroom was full.

A male store security officer then asked the man to walk to the security office to fill out a criminal trespass notice.

As they passed the exit doors the suspect ran outside. He was last seen across the road hiding next to a tree by a nearby business.

The area was checked, but the suspect was not located.
