Stories in the Forest takes bilingual twist

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - Jonesboro's monthly Stories in the Forest program took a unique twist Saturday.

In honor of American Heart Month, Dr. Max Arroyo, a cardiologist at St. Bernards, read to the group of eager listeners.

It was the first time a guest reader read to the kids in both English and Spanish.

"There's a growing Hispanic population in Jonesboro and the states," Arroyo said. "It should be a part of education. Kids should be exposed to different languages."

The Women's Council of the St. Bernards Foundation sponsors this free program on the first Saturday of each month at the St. Bernards Fun Forest at The Mall at Turtle Creek in Jonesboro.
