Police: Man forced woman to stay in his car

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -

Jonesboro police officers are working a case where a woman said a man would not let her get out of his car.

According to an incident report, the 25-year-old woman was walking to her mom's house on Gilbert Street from Meadowbrook Road.

By the time she got to Huntington Avenue, she saw a car pass by.

That same car then came back and stopped at the 1300 block of Huntington and a man she did not know offered her a ride.

The woman got in the backseat of the car, but she became suspicious when the man started taking side roads.

She told police she tried to get out of the car but when she did, the suspect jumped out, grabbed her, and tried to forcefully place her back in the car.

The woman said the man grabbed her neck, so she kicked him.

A man living nearby heard the scuffle and called police.

At the time of the report on Sunday afternoon, there were no arrests in this case.
