JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - A second meeting was held on Monday night for the public to review the City of Jonesboro's land use and master street plan drafts.
Two committees worked for 16 months to develop the plans.
In the open meeting, citizens were able to review the plans and make suggestions and comments.
"This is a first effort to allow for that public input," City Planner Otis Spriggs said. "We will take those comments back to the committees and actually review those and apply them."
The plans are meant to be progressive and plan for the future growth of Jonesboro.
"What you see now is a visionary plan, not only what we can do immediately to take care of some of the problems but in the long term vision," Mayor Harold Perrin said.
You can still review a draft of the plan at the city clerk's office or find it online.
There will be also public hearings before the planning committee and the city council, where additional community input is allowed.
