BONO, AR (KAIT) - The City of Bono has a new chief of police.

Bono Mayor Danny Shaw on Tuesday said he hired Michael Parrish.

Parrish was a lieutenant with the Craighead County Sheriff's Department. He was 1 of 10 people who applied for the position.

Parrish also serves on the Bono Volunteer Fire Department.

He had served under former Bono Police Chief Rick Duhon. Duhon resigned following an arrest and was later convicted of sexual assault of a minor in 2006.

Parrish is the city's 6th police chief hired in the last 9 years.
