JONESBORO, AR (ASU) – The Arkansas State baseball team has announced two schedule changes after Tuesday's contest with Ole Miss was cancelled due to poor field conditions as a result of the winter weather that moved through the area over the past couple of days.
The Red Wolves will now travel to Oxford, Miss., to take on the Rebels next Tuesday, Feb. 24 with first pitch set for 3 p.m. at Oxford University-Stadium/Swayze Field. As a result, A-State's regularly scheduled contest with Southeast Missouri that was set for Feb. 24 will now move to Wednesday, Feb. 25 with the game slated to start at 6 p.m. from Tomlinson Stadium.
A-State's next scheduled action is set for Saturday, Feb. 21 when the Red Wolves travel to Natchitoches, La., to take on Creighton and Northwestern State in a doubleheader. First pitch against the Blue Jays is set for 1 p.m., while the contest against the Demons is set for 5 p.m.
Arkansas State took two of three games against Illinois State on opening weekend to claim its third straight season-opening series victory. The Red Wolves dropped game one to the Redbirds 3-0, but bounced back to sweep a doubleheader last Saturday by scores of 13-4 and 11-5. The final game of the series was cancelled due to weather.
