Home invasion leads to kidnapping arrest

CRAIGHEAD COUNTY, AR (KAIT) -

A report of a home invasion ended in a kidnapping arrest in Craighead County.

The Craighead County Sheriff's Office arrested Austin Alvin Armstrong on Friday, Feb. 13.

Police responded to a home invasion call in Brookland, but when officers arrived at the scene they found a kidnapping victim.

“They learned that one of the witnesses, or one of the victims that was at this address was actually kidnapped in Greene County,” said Detective Justin Rolland with CCSO. “He was kidnapped in Greene County at gunpoint and was apparently brought to an address here in Craighead County.”

Armstrong was charged with burglary, false imprisonment and assault in Craighead County and faces a charge of kidnapping in Greene County.

Rolland said they are searching for a second suspect.
