NEWPORT, AR (KAIT) - After being convicted 6 times for residential burglary, a Newport man once again faces charges of residential burglary, according to an affidavit filed Wednesday.
According to Lt. Patrick Weatherford with the Newport Police Department, Derrick Dewayne Curry, 47, of Newport was charged for breaking into a woman's home at 3 p.m. on Feb. 15 and going through her cabinets. Curry is charged with residential burglary.
The affidavit also stated the homeowner told police that Curry did not have permission to be in her home.
Weatherford said Curry has been convicted of 26 total felonies.
Curry is being held in the Jackson County Jail on a $200,000 bond. He'll appear in Jackson County Circuit Court on March 10, 2015.
